Favicons for Illinois Websites
Instructions
Step 1: Download the .ico file
By visiting the favicon section of the cdn you can view the favicon itself. Once you’re there, you can right click or press CTRL and click to save the .ico file to your computer. Don’t change the file type or rename if you can help it.
Step 2: Log in to your Drupal backend
After you have the file saved to your computer, you’ll need to upload it in two places on your Drupal website (or possibly more if you have additional custom themes installed). In your Drupal dashboard, you’ll want to follow this path:
- Appearance (could look like a paint brush icon)
- Settings (it might have a additional drop downs, but you want to click on the Settings link itself)
- Scroll down to the favicon section and uncheck “use theme favicon”
- Upload the new favicon file by clicking the box that says “Choose File” under the Upload favicon image label.
- Repeat these steps under Appearance and then Illinois framework theme.
- Repeat again under any additional active child themes.
