High-fives: A quick look at 3 on-brand social graphics

In my first weeks as a designer on the SMB team, I've spent a lot of time digging into the design section of our brand guidelines site. I've also enjoyed looking for examples of how campus units are using design aspects of the brand. Here are a few recent Twitter graphics that have done a good job applying some of the basic brand elements.

1. In this Science Cafe post, I really like the use of the blocks of brand colors to separate the information. Everything looks clean and organized, which makes it easy to read. They also use the U of I wordmark while also identifying the sponsoring institutes in type.

2. This graduation graphic, used by the Graduate College, demonstrates a nice use of the brand gradient and Illini fingerprint graphic. Together they give the piece some texture, movement and depth.

3. Sometimes a simple, clean graphic, like this student spotlight from ACES, is the way to go. This design leans into our Illini Orange, uses a brand font, and highlights the title in a bold way.

We always like seeing your on-brand design and messaging work, so feel free to send them to me or to anyone on our team. You can also tag us on Twitter – our handle is @UofIMarketing.
